(But, in fact, as you may expect, certain number of them cleary deny
all newbies emotionally.)
They say, most of japanese will welcome you with pleasure, but,
only if "you try to speak japanese, even a little".
They hate "one-way adoption".
I strongly encourage you all to try to use japanese words at conversation,
or, use auto-translation-dictionally implemented into US FFXI.
You might have asked some questions to a japanese, and he might
have shown no response, just like an idiot.
You might have getten angry with him. But, WAIT. He might have tried
to make (correct) English sentence, or consulted with dictionaries.
In front of you standing with patients, japanese often do something with
effort behind a display.
Even for fine English-speaking japanese players, it is difficult to
translate or understand the game-specific-terms.
Like names of items or equipuments.
Please keep in mind it.

I really really would like you to broadcast about this information.
IMO, asking by Yes/No question often works well to japanese.
If the question is not very long, it is easy to answer.
Anyways, I hope you to help or support JP players to carry out good
conversations, no matter what language is used.

Some reports says, in every server, japanese players "who are
looked as English speaker" are being WORN OUT by *Tsunami of Tell*
from NA players. Some of them feded up to be a interpreter, or,
to be a "NPC as an quetion-answering-machine".
Don't estimate our capacity too large. Or,
Don't "consume" us without any thought. Like oils.
Please leave us (even a bit of) our playtime (or resttime) for ourselves.
(As you may know, it is almost impossible for us to distinguish
child NA players with adult NA players. This is my personaly request,
please help us to control childish players, if you find.)
If you are regarding us as a kind of temporary helper only for you,
we have no reason to do any efforts. I truly wish you are not.

Please NEVER PULL OFF our hands to be shaken. We are not so tough ;)

When in Vana'diel do as the Japanese PCs do.
I recommend you use "auto-translate function", a phrase-to-phrase translator which is equipped in the FF11 system. Most of Japanese people understand
easy English phrases and will try to answer your questions but, we sometimes have no idea about what you are refering to in English...To use the
"auto-translate function" will help you get your ideas clearly conveyed to the Japanese people in such situations as you are looking for someone,
you are seeking something, or you are going somewhere. If we can get the corresponding Japanese words correctly, we will be able to answer your questions rightly.

While you play FFXI, is the whole-corner characters indicated in the form which can be read?
For example, it is in such cases as the Hiragana and Kanji, except for the half-corner ASCII characters.
Actually, there are the whole-corner and a half-corner in the same sign,
and Japanese often uses the whole-corner.
If it is misconverted, we must be careful nat to use the whole-corner character when we chats to you.

I'll certainly be using the "auto-translate" feature and I can try my hand at some simple Japanese phrases but they would be using the Roman character set.
Will that be understood by most? For example, if I said "sumimasen" or "gomennasai", would that be understood by most Japanese players?
Regardless, I hope as they level and get to know the game better, the NA players won't be sending so many tells to the more experienced JP players.
I personally prefer to try to figure things out for myself so I haven't asked many questions in game but should I have any, I will of course try to be as accomodating as possible.

American players are always viewed as 'burly/inconsiderate' by
Japanese gamers, and the various posts from this BBS doesn't help
your cause, so I'd recommend all you U/C players to just have basic
courtesy and respect one another, and everyone can play in peace
without fear of 'not getting into parties' and whatnot.Just remember
that most Japanese players have been playing the game a lot longer

Hi! His name means "Anonymous" in JP. It's custom to do so among Japanese here.
BTW, You will learn a WeaponSkill maybe named "Combo" in lvl 3.
Damage enhancing JobAbility will be "concentration" (so I guessed the name),
which increase your hit rate, from lvl 25.
Check enemy before starting to fight so that you would fight more safely.

FF11 Monks look like EQ Monks, but FF11 Monks does not get unattcker ability/ability for group.
Mnk ability is only for the self.
increase hit rate, hp/status cure, increase dodge rare and so...
he is pure melee attacker class.

Hi,
I am an American player. I try to use the translate feature alot.
I think it needs more options. I cannot find "thank you" in the
translate function. I think it is not there.
Please tell other Japanese players we cannot say "Thank you" In kanji so we use Roman character japanese way. If this was hard to understand I am sorry. I tried.

instead of using Kanji character, you can use the "sound-only representation" by using roman.
For example,
"Arigato" means "Thank you",
or
"Konnichiiwa" means "Hello".
Primarily the Japanese language is based on sound only,
and in later stages, the Kanji covers and extends japanese words.
So it is no need to be afraid of using "sound-only representations."
in addition,
"UhawwwwOKwwww" is one of slang in FFXI.
The words approximately means "Oh! lol That beats it lolololol"
You can use it in the case that you feel "I've had it!" or "I'm bored"
to change your mind blightly.
But the words is "double-edged sword" that makes a poor impression of yourself,
so I can't reccomend the use of the words for amateurs.

「ありがとう」一つ言えないと言ってる。見つからない、使いにくいと。
で、（日本人がやたら正確な文法の英語を使いたがるのと多分同じ理由で）
漢字を使って「ありがとう」と言いたいんだけれども言えず、
ローマ字になってしまうと。それが読みにくかったら、ごめんね、と。

from Canada,Quebec.I wanted to say my opinion.
I've been playing this game since its release on october 28.Until now
I have to say that I found more japanese players more friendly then Americain
players.Even if they were at lvl 50-60 or to the max.Some of them help me lvl up.Even
take me back when I went too far places.
I really don't mind playing with japanese players.I'll event try learning more japanese word if I have too.
Any friendly japanese who wants to play with me are always welcome to join me.Maybe I will meet a japanese
girl one day who knows.He!He!(^.^)
PS:For those english players who are still mad about not having new servers,just play another game.Just consider yourself

自分で使ってるIME用の日本語→英語の部分 を英語→ローマ字読みにしたもの。
でも、自動でローマ字に読ませているので、変なところ多々あるぽｗ
あと、間違った読み方もサポートしているため、逆にまぎらわしい読み方
も混じりまくり。
英語版の人が日本人に英語で聞いて、わからなかった場合などに
ローマ字で聞くときなどの参考になるんでないかなぁ。
向こうはIMEに登録してもつかえないという部分もあるので、
使用法がちょっと問題になるだろけど。
